The process industry is taking leaps forward! This year’s Viewport Innovation Day revealed exciting developments in the process industry, and gave Draga the opportunity to learn and connect with leaders in digital transformation.
Insight, innovation, and inspiration
As official sponsors of Viewport Innovation Day 2024, we’re thrilled at the success of this event – perhaps the biggest event yet! Innovators and leaders from across the process industry gathered in Amsterdam, including Viewport users and partners from energy, chemical, and utilities to discuss their journeys to digitization.
The in-person event as sponsors was held on May 23 at the Heineken Experience, Amsterdam’s oldest and most iconic brewery.
Not only did we get the opportunity to learn alongside attendees from all around the world, but we were also blessed with beautiful weather all throughout the day. We loved seeing leaders, engineers, and decision makers coming together to exchange ideas.
A melting pot of the latest technology
The day was filled with back-to-back live demonstrations, keynote presentations, networking opportunities, and expert-led discussion panels. Our representative for the day, CIO Tonia Pedersen was intrigued by the latest developments and trends on display
Yokogawa offered a peek into the future of robotics with a live demonstration with Spot, the robot dog from Boston Dynamics. We’re still seeing the possible applications in the process industry being explored, and we’re sure more will reveal themselves in the future. We also explored digital twin functionality in brownfield environments with CAXperts.
A key highlight was when Viewport’s CTO, Mark van ’t Zet demonstrated the application of AI technology in visually identifying equipment, and answering questions about data. The capabilities of AI have come a very long way, even in the short span of time since the last Viewport Innovation Day.
Saluting a successful day
Of course, all good things must come to an end. We wrapped up our day with a private tour around the brewery and a personalised beer to bring home.
