From June 2nd-6th, 2025, Draga’s Sales Executive, Gaute Madsen, attended the 60th Nor-Shipping event at NOVA Spektrum Conference Centre in Lillestrøm, Norway. He was there to promote MIMS Tech Solutions, explore cutting-edge innovations, and engage in dialogues with maritime industry leaders, tech entrepreneurs, and finance professionals.

As one of the driving forces in the development of MIMS CABSYS, a smart cable management system in MIMS Tech’s cloud-based engineering suite, Gaute was excited to discover recent trends and updates in the maritime industry.
The call for sustainable maritime development
At the Nor-Shipping conference hall, Blue Talks speakers presented case studies, key discoveries, and perspectives on present-day challenges, as well as opportunities in maritime leadership, ocean investment, and offshore aquaculture. Having seen firsthand the impact of poor cable management in past FPSO projects, he was moved by this positive development in the sector.
Innovations above and below the ocean
During intermissions, Gaute joined the crowd at the demonstration showcase inside the main exhibition area. There, he learned about the latest #FutureProof innovations on display, including AI-powered navigational safety platforms and offshore service vessels — innovations Gaute found eye-opening.
Looking forward to future Nor-Shipping events
Towards the end of the event, Gaute joined the Nor-Shipping 60th anniversary party to unwind and connect with fellow maritime specialists over barbecue and live entertainment. The Nor-Shipping 2025 event concluded with a memorable closing ceremony where Gaute enjoyed his final Blue Talks sessions of the event.
Armed with new maritime insights and perspectives, Gaute is determined to continue to play his part in leading positive changes at sea alongside his team at Draga as they step into the future of opportunities for an industry-wide digital transformation.
